AT THE TOWN HALL,

< It is. many months since Masterton lias been favoured with a visit by a vaudeville company of such sterling i-Kiit as that which appeared in the Town Hall last evening. The name of H;iry Richards always stands for a refined and pleasing form of cnt j;i.Oin rnenfc, and those who witnessed last night's performance were choroughiv impressed with the all round excellence of the entertainment presented. A most remarkable "tun" is the trapeze work of Alcide Ca-ptaine. a 'ady .gymnast of great skill. Sydney Back is a Welsh .vnteiUiiH.-r and a remarkably versatile fine at that lie has a. fine voice, and, what is still more valuable, a rare sense of humour. The chief feature of his performance was a most amusing impersonation of the ecentricities of Mark Hamburg, the famotis' pianist. Mr Alf. Holt is a wonderful mimic of birds and animals, his clever imitations being of a very high oixler of merit. Binns and Binns, two artists of the tramp musician type, provided some good com cdy, besides introducing selecv.ons on •various instruments. 'Clark *uid Mcstol gave a really clever exhibition of dancing, in addition to songs and patter, which formed one of the best . items of the evening. Carlton Max. ventriloquist, with the assistance of "Jf.rry." kept the house in roars of laughter during his contribution to the entertainment. Miss Fanny Pow- j e:rs is a dainty comedienne, who sings | nicely and dances cleverly and gract 1 - j fully. Items which helped to give var- I iety to the programme were j;iyen by j the Marlow Sisters (song and dance I artists), Pastor and Merle (ecccniriques).
