In view of the fact that petroleum springs exist in the Masterton district, the foKiowiuig from the "Petroleum Review" of October 7th will be read with interest:—"There seems every likelihood that when the next 'oil boom comes, along—and signs' arc aiot wanting to suggest that this will ibe- in' the near future-r-the possibilities of developing large petrole-um ipi-odiucing territories in New Zealand will be appreciated, by the investing pubKo to their fullest extent. That a .most serious at tempt is being made to put the petroleum industry upon a basis of solidity and real progress is l evident on every hand. In numerous' districts developments are. already taking place, and the indications' of a successful issue aire such that oriA' land values aav* rapidly rising."
