ON ACCOUNT OF MESSRS A. AND J. WELCH.
Messrs Dalgety- and Co., Ltd., report having held one of the most successful clearing sales ever conducted in the district on Thursday, on .account of Messrs A. and J. We.ch. Although the weather conditions were unfavourable and against a large attendance buyers were present from all parts of the Wairwrapa and Wellington, the result being that competition for every line brought under the hammer was very keen. The stodc came forward in. a manner that did credit to the owners. The -hoi'ses offered were a particularly fipe lot, and we have authority
from a competent judge in these parts (Mr W. D. Watson) to say that, in his opinion, they wero the best line over offered at a clearing sale in this district. The sheep also wero a good lot-, and prices roalised must be considered very satisfactory. In cattle wo offered some extra good dairy cows, which .were well sought after, the result being that high prices were realised for each lot submitted to auction.
