CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. In a slander case heard at the Supreme Court to-day, in which Herbert C. Amos, storekeeper, of Doyleston, claimed £250 damages from Jolin McLachlan, one of the candidates for the Ashburton seat, after evidence had been heard the jury, awarded the plaintiff £2 10s damages. Judgment was entered up accordingly, with costs on the lowest scale.
