Mr G. C. Branson, of Masterton, intends commencing the teaching of elocution raid singing in Napier at an early date. A wedding in which some local interest was manifested was celebrated in St. Matthew's Church, Masterton, yesterday afternoon, when. Mr W. La Roche, eldest son of the late Mr La Roche, of Cole Street, was married to Miss May Cole, third daughter of Mr H. Cole, of Masterton. The Rev. Watson was the officiating minister. The Auckland Board of Education appointed Mr Nelson T. Lam bourne, of Mangaere, and Mr James W. McIhvraith, of Canterbury Norma,! School,' to the positions of inspectors. There were 49 applications.
Mr W. L. Falconer, of Masterton, who has been on a visit to England and Scotland, lias reached Auckland on his return journey, and should arrive home on Friday. Mr Hugh Trumble, the well-known cricketer, lias been elected secretary of the Melbourne Cricket Club. The new secretary is one of the best known cricketers in Australia, and was one oj the best bowlers that- ever played for Australia. He paid five visits with Australian teams to England—lß9o 1893, 1896, 1899, and 1902. Mr W. Perry, of Penrose, Mastertoil, is at present suffering from an acute attack <tof influenza, which, necessitated his absence from the annual meeting of the Wairarapa South County Council yesterday.

I Mr Cook is now in charge of the pasteuriser installed by the Agricultural Department at the Scarborough •creamery, Mr Hen ton, lately bi charge, having returned to Waingawa. Mr Alfred Matthews loft Featherston on Tuesday for Auckland, where he will act as judge of Romney Marsh i sheep at the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Society's annual show. I. Mr and Mrs C. .). Kent-Johnston and family are to leave Featherstou for their new home in Parnell, on-Mon-day afternoon next.
