DRIVER'S PRESENCE OF MIND PREVENTS SERIOUS ACCIDENT. (Received Last Night, 9 o'clock.) ADELAIDE, November 22. Eleven railway trucks loaded with metal broke, away horn a train at Sleepy Hill quarry. The trucks gathered a, speed of -JO miles an hoxir. They wero seen by tho driver of an approaching passenger train, who reversed the engine, but bo -was too Late to prevent a collision. The force of the impact crashed the locomotive into the first carriage until •the smock stack prevented farther progress. The carriage was fortunately empty. The fireman was severely injured, and the driver slightly injured. Tho passengers escaped unhurt. The passengers raised a testimonial in recognition of the driver's presence of mind.
