DROWNING FATALITY
AT WAIRARAPA LAKE. A sad hoa/toing fatality occurred, at Laike Ferry on Sunday morning at 11 o'clock. Together with O. Davi«s, M. Saxlt'on aaid J. Robertson, a man named William George Gauming, a pltougjlrman. ini the , employ of George Hume, of Pirinoa, went out in> a keeOHbottoaned boat to fishi at the Spit. When crossing the Fenny at the entrance to the Wairarapa Lake/ thie' boat was swamped, aimd the occupant* precipitated into the waiter.
Three of thie men swam ashorewith great difficulty, but Gauming was washed out to sea, and drowned.
Yesterday moaning the body of the up.iforifcunate mum was found on 1 the WUkngaiimoana beach, by Mr Gtould, of the Lake Feira-y Hotel.
Deceased was a singOte' man, about 26 years of age. An inquest i's to* be held.
