THE MASTERTON SEAT.
The continued illness of Mr A. W. Hogg has taken a good deal of the "vim" out of the contest for the Mustcrtbn seat. This notwithstanding, the. Opposition candidates are pursuing a vigorous caimpaigni in the country districts, and are meeting with encouraging support. It is impossible, at this stage, to give anything like an* accurate forecast Df the !T.«ult of the poll'. Tlim? seems ev-
•ary po-obaibility that Mr Hogg will mono tdiam Ihiold lias own ita Mastertoni; but, as tihie country vote i& as forge as that of tlbe town, the ooitconro of the election is- vea-y miuch in, doubt. TQie< final' result may de-pc-ud., iai a measure, upon which, of the Opposition candidates reacihlei* the* second ballot.
