The result was that passengers for the W'airarapa from tilie north.'were taken to Wellington, and. reached Ma&tertoin earlier b(y this route. Tthie difficulty could be overcome by delaying the train wild all leaves Palimcr&to<n for tlie Wiaiiraraipa for (about half an hour. If this' were dione, the required connection. couldi be made. There is nb. r-ea-son hi<l!f an hour or more might mot ,be saved on the journey beitween Balmerstan and WtflLrngtom,' via .tli'e Wa.irarapa. Under present oircumistance&, the Wairarapa luaa a very re<al (grievance, and one wthioh, should be speedily redressi ed.
