AGAINST SPEAKER WILLIS UPHELD BY FULL COURT; (Received Last Night, 7.30 o'clock.) SYDNEY, November 17. The full Court upheld the demurrer raised by tiio plaintiff in. the case in which. Mr Perry, a member of the Assembly, proceeded against Speaker Willis and the Sorgeant-at-Arms for assault and wrongful imprisonment arising out of the recent scenes in the Assembly. Defendants pleaded, not guilty, and that any action taken was for the purpose of preserving order and maintaining the standing order. Plaintiff demurred on a second plea claiming that it disclosed no justification for being brought back to .the House in custody and detained. The Court held thi'ait the Speaker was merely acting as Chairman of a meeting, arid had no positive powers. The cause of the disorder 'having been removed by plaintiff leaving the House, the speaker had no power to bring him l>ack, which 'Justice Pring-characterised as the extraordinary deprivation of a man's, liberty.
