NEV/ UNIONIST LEADER . SPEECH AT LEEDS. > ' (Received Last Night,' 10.25 o'clock.) LONDON, November 17. Mr Bona.r-Law, speaking at Leeds, declared that, the Unionists would strenuously resist Welsh ment, which had nothing to support it exoept prejudice and bigotry. The Insurance Bill was,he said, passing the House of Commons mechanically, and the vital interests of the whole community were being sacrificed to make a clear road for Home Rule. The necessity of retaining the Nationalist support was 'the whole cause of the failure of last year's conference. The Nationalists 'neither know nor cared about British political questions, and it was. therefore- intolerable that they •should dominate British politics. This view was once held by Mr Asquith. The Government's reformed Second Chamber, would probably arrive after Home Rule was passed. The recent industrial uira-est had ripened the fruit of the seed sown, during the Budget campaign, when the poor were led to expect a! golden, age The protection of social reform without Tariff reform would > only increase the number of poor, and create tmeiri-; ployment.
