„ The foundation-stone of the new church at Ruripuni will be laid this ftfternoon by the BSshbp of Wellington. members of st. Matthew's' choir will be pr;esent, and the service will be- ■ ©n with' the singing of Psalm cxxxii: prayer hasbeen offered by the Bishop and people, hymn 394 (Aiu cientand Modern Hym?i Book) will; be , suiig,': during the singing of which an opportunity will, bo given . those present t<j>; lay their offerings; v 'on the . foundation-stone. ~ Then, after the 1 ■ Apostle' 6 Creed has'been sa!id by all, the stone will.be fixed ill its place with • ' these words...•••• vv ; \ Vlu the faith of Jesus Christ, we place tjhis foundation in the. name of ' the Father, and of the Son, and of ; i the. Holy Ghost, Amen." , V,. • The;'. Bishop, laying his hands upon / the, <&>n<v will say, "Here.; let, true faith and'tbe fear of God with.brotherdy.Jove ever abide ; arid be this place • 'dedicated unto prayer -and the praise ; of the most holyjiame of the Saviour, of our Lord Jesus Christ, who with the Father and the Holy Spirit liveth and reignetli one God, world without end. Amen." 'After.further prayer v the service will close singing of the hymni "The Church's One - foundation is Jesus Christ Her Lord.'' The site of the new chorch is situat\i <ed at the corner of the Carterton road Short Street. The ceremony will special interest from the, fact ' that, this will be the first ".foundation . • Bishop ' Sprott will have '\' laid. ' " ' ■ ■' The church, when completed, will consist of nave, chancel and vestry, but it is intended to complete only the ; / ; nave portion at the present time. The architect was Mr H. A; Jones, and , the builders are Messrs Welch and Jlope. The inscripti<m/on -the found- . ation stone will read: "This stone was laid by the Rt. Rov. T. H.
