I ADELAIDE, November 13. ! Tho weather was warm and the wicket splendid when, iOio cricket match between the M.C.C. and South Australia was continued to-day. There was an attendance of three thousand. I Clem Hill (49 not out) and Down (4 not out) faced the bowling of Foster I and Barnes. In the former's first over Hill was caught. He mishit to short-square-leg. He hatted soundly for 100 minutes. —5 for 89. Two runs had been added, wheu I Foster bowled Kirk wood. Backman was the next a,t the wickets. The century came in 128 minutes. Down, w<hon he had scored twelve, was missed by the wicketkeeper oft' Barnes, and by Rhodes at silly-square-leg off Foster. In Foster's next over, Rhodes caught Backman in the same place. The other men gave little trouble, the innings lasting only .180 minutes. Barnes and Foster bowled splendidly throughout, wliilo tho fielding at times was brilliant. South Australia followed on, with their second innings, Foster, at four, bowled Down, breaking 'his stump. At 7, Clem. Hill was beaten by the pace of the ball. Crawford hit hard from the start, and made six successive fours, imostly off Vine, who relieved Foster. Mayne was batting steadily. Crawford continued forcible tactics and reached fifty in an hour. The century came in 83 minutes. Four runs later Crawford was caught at point. He batted for 83 minutes, and hit twelvo fours. After tea, Douglas bowled well, making the ball come fast from the pitch. Seven wickets were down for 115 runs. Rees did somo plucky dashing. ! Mayne compiled 51 in 47 minutes. The bowlers were changed frequent-, ly, but runs came at a fair rate. Two hundred camo up in 190 minutes. Just < before time Rees was caught at the wicket. He batted for 71 minutes and hit six fours.
