ATROCITIES OF WAR
DISCUSSED IN AUSTRALIA.
Received This Mornmg, 12.5 o'clock . MELBOURNE, November 9.
In the Federal blouse, Ma- Salmon referred to the reported atrocities iin the Turco-ItaLian war. He suggested tluai the Imperial Government be asked, to have representations made to the two Powers con-, cerned, and failing a satisfactory reply, to make representations to the European nations in order that internaitioma'l pressure might be used to stop a disgrace to civilisation. Mr Hegos (a. Labour member): '•.iuiey might rake up records of Sbuth Africa.''
•Mr Deakiin (indignantly): "If they do we have nothing to fear!" Mr Fisher thought it beat to preserve the dignity cf Aiistralia, by following the course laid down by the British' Prime Minister. At present a\ discussion on unofficial reports was iintadvisable and not in our own interests.
