POST OFFICE ORDERS.
The proposal of the Postmaster -General (Sir Joseph Ward) that lettercarriers should convey the mioiicy transmitted by nrorievHorder, to tli** persons entitled to receive it, reads alriglht on paper. But Sir Joseph should remember that letter-carriers are ondy humaai, and a big; ri&k ivwn'ld be run by entrusting tfem with large sums of money. The responsibility is one which letter-carriers themselves, would not care to accept. If the Postmaster-General d' sire> to do a real! service to the community, he (mill reduce the charge for moneyorders, land wipe out the tax on postal notes, entirely.
