WELLINGTON, Last Night.
The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Office this evening issued the following summary and forecast:—
Strong westerly winds have obtained the to-day. Sh/oweny weartiher has prenaited on the W«s.t Coast, and iai the southern districts of the South Island, and looal showers-iin parts e tee where. The barometer has risen in the Nhrth, but fallen steadily in .the Soutli. Present indications are for increasing westerly and squally blinds everywhere. Unsettlied and /cloudy weatih'er, with rain, pro ba Me on the West Go'nu., and' in the southern districts. Changeable weather probable elsewhere, wiith showers in partsL The barometer is unsteady and a further fall i.s anticipated.
