One of the questions jutt to Mir JAlfon, M.P., at Mil ton had reference to the leadership of the Opposition, aind the .elector .suggested that it was rumoured that the Opposition rank and file were becoming dissaticSed with their .present Leader. Mi' Allien controdlicted this flatly., • "I know, he said, "'that the Übvornment, for party purposes, are spreading the report that we are not loyal to Mr Massey. I deny that 'absolutely. The country knows him to be a man of the people, a poor man comiparative--ly, a. small fawner. He lifts g.iven the Jbteslt years of 'his llife to ' tllws country. He lias spent a gtrnd deal out;of'Wis own money .going, about the .country trying .to teM the people what to <1;». The party are- absolutely loyal to him—every man of them."
