MANAWATU SHOW
OPENING TO-DAY.
To-day the Manawatu and West | Coast A. and P. Association's Agri- j cultural Show commences at Palimersiton North, and will be continued on i two succeeding days. Our corres- j pondent inform® us that preparations are jiow complete;and prize animals j are v 'beginning to arrive already. The entries are large, and most of the old well-knowin breeders and. exhibitors are again to the fore. To their names new ones have been added, giving zest to the contest for honour® at this central fixture. Auckland, Hawke's* Bay,. Taranaki, Wairarapa, Wellington and Marlborough are all to be represented with high'-class stock. The recent rains have brought the grass* along excellently, and the Showgrounds are in great heart. The decision of the Committee to open the Halls each evening of. the show has attracted a great number of side show men, who will' cater for the amusement of the public, and some unusually good items are promised in this direction. This year the demand for isliow space has. been great, and the Committee has had its work cut out to satisfy all claimants. As the weather now seems settled a record attendance is anticipated. Hailway arrangements are all' completed, and our readers are recommended to make an effort to see this memorable show.
