LAWN TENNIS
m A MASTERTON PROTEST.
At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, held in Wellington last evening (says a Press Association telegram), a protest was. received from the Masterton
Club against the dates (January 20th, 22nd and 23rd) of the Wellington Association for the champion tourney, which it was held usurped the dates for the Wairarapa championships and handicap tournament. These date y s had ruled in the Wairarapa for the past sixteen years. Mr Keene moved that the protest be . referred back to the Wellington Association. The Masterton Club, he considered, had no standing so far as the New Zealand Association was concerned. Tlie protest should come through the Wellington. Association.
Professor Hunter moved as an amendment that the matter be left in the hands of the TSt&nagement Committee.
After some discussion the' amendment whs carried.
