WELLINGTON LAND BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING.
Tlio monthly meeting of the Wellington Land Board was held on Thursday last, the Commissioner presiding.
With reference to Mr F. H. White's application to select Sections »3 and 14, Langdale Suburbs, area 10 acres, on renewable lease, it was resolved to recommend that he be allowed to do so under Section 51 (2) of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, at a rent of £2 18s per annum, the board being of opinion that his present renewable lease holdings, comprising Sections 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, Langdale Suburbs, 25a. 2d. 25p., is insufficient for the maintenance of himself and family. Mr White now holds 13 and 14 on a temporary occupation license from year to year.
The following transfers were approved :—Section 52, Block I, Mangaone, Hukanui V.S., 26a. lr. 39p., P. •Lawson to S. F. Rhodes; Section 7, Block 18, Mangahao, Pahiatua V.S., 5 acres, J. Macdonald to E. A. McLaughlan. The following title was approved:— Section 379, Block 14, Miki Miki, 268 acres, J. Knopfle. Mrs B. Roberts applied to transfer Section 19a, Block I, Aohanga, .75 acres, to Mrs E. M. Woodhouse.—Declined.
With reference to 'Mr J. Kelly's application to transfer Sections 49 and 53, Block XVI, Makuri, 386 acres 2 roods, to Mrs M. S. Thompson, a report was received from the Crown Lands Ranger, and it was resolved to adjourn consideration until next meeting.
Messrs W. J. and A. G. Parker applied to transfer Section 8, Block IX, Huangarua, Tawaha Settlement, 90 acres 1 rood 33 perches, to Mr C. Hawke. Approved on the nsu'il conditions. •
With reference' to .Mr R. Stack's application to transfer Section 22, Block XIII, Mangahao, 200 acinus, to Mr John Senk, a report was recei /cd from the Crown Lands Ranger.—Declined. • ' ,
-Mr H. J. M'Donald applied to transfer Section 1, Block XI, Hauigarua, Table Land Settlement, 284 acres 3 roods, to Mr W. Matthews.— Approved.
Mr J. M. Hill applied to transfer Section 2, Block XI, Huangarua, Table Land Settlement, 245 acres 2 roods, to Mr Roy Tankersley.—Approved. With reference to £2 14s for improvements effected on Section "1, Block \ 111, Belmont, Dyer Settlement it was resolved to approve of payment of £2B 6s 8d to the public account and of the balance of £172 7s 4d to the person found to be entitled thereto.
A report was recei'ved from the Crown Lands Ranger to the effect that Mr P. S. Stace was not residing on sections 24 and 3, Block VII 320 acres and 40 acres 3 roods 38 perches, respectively, and it was resolved, unless he resides forthwith in a •jona-.'ide majiner, to call upon him to show cause why his interests should not be declared forfeited.
Mr J. Flynn, Section 2, Block XIII. Huangaraa, Dyer Settlement, 220 acres 3 roods 3Q perches, applied for permission to reside with his sons on Section 3 adjoining, which was transferred ill September last to them. He says he is a widower, and his daughter is keeping houso for them. It was re-
. -#C solved to approve for six months" W. H. Meech applied to transfer the lease of Section 1, Block XI, Makuri, 64i2 acres, to F. N. Houghton, and it was resolved to approve the application subject to Mr Houghton'"disposing of his present holding in the Hawke's Bay district. Mr T. Mason applied to transfer his sub-lease of portion of Section 37, Block VII, Tararua, 200 acres, to Messrs W. H. Davis and J. Freetham, and it Was resolved to approve on the usual conditions.
