Envoy Leech, of Paeroa, who has been doing special duty for the Salvation Army in the North Island, and who has been spending several days in Masterton, leaves for the South this morning.
Mr 0. M. Baeyertz has been appointed judge of singing tand elocution at the Napier competitions nest year, and Mrs A. M. Montagu j of Wellington, lias been re-elected sole official accompanist.
The death is Announced by oable from California of Monsignor Capel, a brilliant Roman Catholic prelate, who was bom in 1836, and ordained in 1860.

Mr Clarence Obree Evans, of Dyerville, was married rto Miss Hargood, of Wellington, on Wednesday, in St. Peter's Church, Wellington. Miss Ivy Evans, and Miss Hargood's sister were the bridesmaids.
