A PROPOSED AMENDMENT.

WELLINGTON, Last Night
In the House of Representatives today, Sir Joseph Ward moved the second reading of the Representation Commissions Report Validation Bill. He explained that under the existing law the writs for the elections wero issued on December Ist and returnable on fee 29th December. He was considering an amendment to provide that all second ballots be held on the one day. He had ■nob. yet made up his mind on the matter. Hi> desire was to have all the second ballots taken on the same day.
The Bill was read a second time and reported from Committee without amendment.
