LEEDS MINERS. LONDON, October 24. The Leeds Amalgamated Society urges the National Miners to decide to apply to the Conciliation Board for a one quarter per cent, increase in the standard wages. SHOPKEEPERS' CAMPAIGN. LONDON, October 24; Shopkeepers aret-rrangiiig a campaign against the Shops Bill, w-hioh benefits assistants, but has not reduced shopkeepers' hours. The latter are now favourable to the Early Closing Bill, which was hitherto strenuously resisted. MINISTRY OF LABOUR. LONDON, October 24. The Chronicle urges the establishment of a Ministry of Labour, to' Consolidate and prevent the overlapping of labour matters by the Board of Trade, Local Government, and Home Office.
