Backhouse, of Weber, has been transferred to the vacancy in the Featherston post office staff, caused by the transfer of Mr Stephens to Christchurch. Mr A. H. .Herbert, of. Eketahuna, has left on a tour to the Pongaroa district. The death is announced of Mr H. Wagstaff, which occurred at Pahiatua on Friday last. The deceased owned' and worked the brewery at Mangatainoka for a number of years, and before that managed the first checsofaetorv in Woodville.
