Kalipha was imported from' India, where he won numerous races. He sired the well known ony sire Rajah, that won over 20 urst prizes in the Show Ring, and was only beaten once, and that time Hindoo, another by Kalipha, vf&b never beaten as a weight carrier. He is also the sire of Shamrock, winner of three trots at Wellington. Topsy, the dam of Young Kalipha, gained first prize on each occasion, and was shown three times as a brood mare, and gained two first prizes and a second.
