WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY

MEETING OF DIRECTORS

Tlie ordinary monthly meeting was held in the Dominion Hall on Saturday last. Present: Messrs Alex. McLeod (President), in the chair, J. B. McKenzie, E. E. Chamberlain, J. W. Mcßae, Thos. Wyeth, R. Gray, P. C. Jorgenson, R. Cameron, T. G. Hoar, W. Sellar, E. H. Waddington, R. W. Robson, and J. H. Pauling. Correspondence was read from the Scottish Society, of Wellington, Miss Bruce (Sydney), Mrs Montague (Wellington), and Athletic Union (Timaru), and received. The Lord Provost, City Chambers, Edinburgh, Avrote, to Scottish National Memorial to the late King Edward. —lt was decided to s\ibscribe £2 2s towards the funds. The Borough Council intimated that the Society's application for the use of tho Park on New Year's Day had been granted. The Secretary of the Wairarapa , Centre Athletic Union intimated that the sports programmo had been approved, but it was necessary under the Cycling Rides that all riders be registered. —It was decided that tliis will be adhered to in future.

Seventeen aiew members were elected. The delegates of the Wairarapa Centre Athletic Union reported that the Wellington Centre were endeavouring to arrange for the amalgamation of the Wellington and Wairarapa Centres, with the headquarters in Wellington. —It was decided to instruct the delegates to vote for the headquarters to be in Masterton. < Mr Robson brought up the question of an additional event for children under eight years' in the Highland dancing cla-ss, and it was decided that the sum of £2 2s be left in the hands of the judges to. be divided by them and awarded for the most meritorious l exhibitions by young dancers. The next meeting of ■directors will be held on the 18th November.
