A new clause; as explained by the Minister on the second readinir. Was added to the Bill. / A new clause making provision for ' thei wife and children of a worker killed by accident was also added. s . Clause 3 of the Bill, was altered on the motion of .Mr .Poland, to provide that any manual worker may obtain compensation for 'accident no matter wihat his wages are, but the compensation was limited to clerks, etc., whose ' income does pot exceed £2OO per annum.; ; , . The Minister moved an amendment •' to provide that the Act should apply to domestic| .servants whose term "of engagement is for a period of not less than "seven days. . , Mr Allen urged there should be 'a J definition of domestic service. It \Vould not do to include all in the clause, who were, in reality employed m domestic service, whether they were '-paid; servants, pr or relatiofta of the employer. ?
