The Grand Vizier, rpeaking in the Chambers, declared -that the Government's policy was one of peace and n-utual confidence. As far as the Balkans were concerned, the Governiment 'was determined to seek alliance: in order to safeguard the inter- ' iests of the Empire, and meanwhile, ii the Tripolitau question, to secure a solution most favourable to the nation.
