NEW ZEALAND FORECAST.

WELLINGTON, Last Nigjht.
T,he Rev. P. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Office this evening issued the following summary and forecast:—. Westerly winds strong to gale •have prevailed, and squally and showery weather in .most parts of the country. Snow has fallen in high country in the South. A slight but steady rise in the barometer has commenced in the southernmost districts. Present indications are for high westerly winds giving way shortly to a southerly gale:' Much rain 'probable generally, with <colder weather and snow on the higher levels in the South, with a smart rise in the barometer everywhere soon.
