METHODIST GUILD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Methodist Chu-rch Ladies' Guild was held ir.. the Schoolroom on Tuesday. Despite the (boisterous weather, there was a large attendance. The chair was occupied by the ißev. S. J.-Ser-pell. During the course of the proceedings Mrs A. H. Daniell rendered a song and Mrs Allen a recitation. Mesdames 'C. E. Daniell and D. E.. Partoii gave a very interesting and instiuot-ive account of their .recent trip to + ,he Pacific islands, , referring to the exceLlent work which was being done by the missionaries in Fiji, and, giving a splendid description of the Jife and liabits of the natives there. Miss Roberts read an interesting letter from Sister Margaret- Corkill, one of the missionary sisters in Fiji, in regard to the work there. A dainty afternoon tea was provided by Mesdame,s S, H. Halph and \\. Juad, junr., and they were accorded a hearty vote of thanks for their hospibality. A vote of thanks was also passed t • those ladies who liad contributed items to the programme.
