AMUSEMENTS

THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. A good house witnessed the final screening of the current programme at the Foresters' Hall, last evening. To-night a treat is in store for the ■audience. The American Biograph have revived one of their most popular productions, by request, and "The Voice of the Violin" is one of the finest dramas yet presented. A picture that will appeal to both young ami old is a Kalem novelty, "A Tragedy in Toyland." it is a record of cinematography, as it took the photographer three mouths to achieve. "The Uuried Past," by Edison, is strong in plot and interesting in every detail, while "His Mother" h a pathetic Vitagraph drama. .In the scenic portion many picturesque tit-bits are included, -while "AustralCockatoos" shows to what extent these cunning birds can be trained. "Life in a Country Pond" is a. natural history study of great interest and educational value. The comic element is- well sustained by such artists as Tweedledum, Toto and Tontolini. Special music will accompany th<> pictures.
