An auction sale was held to-night ot a number of town and suburban properties offered toy the Railway Department. These lands are disused lands from, the old • railway line running through the centre of the town, and others purchased deviation of the line. Many 'of the properties changed hands, and one ot 47} feet frontage to Devon Street,, half of it being the bed of a running stream, was sold for £9O per foot.
