Sir Joseph Ward replied that he had given definite instructions to Registrar that the names of persons who were not entitled to vote should be removed from the rolls. Mr Gi ay's statement was contrary to fact. Mr L. M. Isitt said he was aware of an instance where the name of a dead man hod been restored to the rolls, and Mr Gray's telegram suggested that registrars were still .dubious as to what they should do. Sir Joseph Ward promised to J'epeat his instruction to the Registrars, making them clea<r.
