' HEW ZEALAND FORECAST. By Telegraph — Fmt Astociaiion. . WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. 0. Bates, of the Meteorological Office this evening issued the. following summary and forecast : The barometer has fallen unusually low in the South, 28.71 inches being recorded at the Bluff this afternoon. Westerly winds, strong to gale, have prevailed everywhere, and. snow and hail in parWof the South Island. Present indications are for cold and stormy weather, very heavy in most parts of the country, and snow and hail in the South. v . Westerly gales wiE probably change to southerlies shortly, with a rising harometer everywhere. Very heavy seas and flooded rivers may Ibe expected on the West, Coast, and rough sea elsewhere.
