TO-DAY'S WEATHER
NEW ZEALAND FORECAST.

WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. O. Bates, of the Meteorological Office this evening issued the following summary and forecast : Westerly winds, strong : gale, have prevailed,,.wifth a southerly tendency. Squally and showery weather hiiS been reported in many places today, and l changeable conditions have prevailed.; The barometric gradient has decreased l to-day, but conditions are still somewhat ominous. The present indication® are for westerly to southerly winds, strong tc gale,, with squally arid showery weather'in most parts of the country. The barometer is very unsteady at present, but will probably rise everywhere in about thirty-six hours.
