Mr Fuller was on a visit* to Masterton yesterday. Mr 0. Ibbetson., who has been 011 the staff of the Martinborough Post Office for several yea re, has been transferred to Napier. Bishop Williams ha(3 a severe attack of influenza -at Te Aute recently, and his condition caused his friends some anxiety. f Mi- A. W. Hogg, M.P., had a good day yesterday, and is progressing favourably. ' The friends of Mr and Mrs R. 'E. Graham, of the Upper Plain, will be pleased to hear that their daughter Eva, aged two and a-half years, who underwent a serious operation in Masterton on' Saturday, is progressing as well as can be expected.
Mr Eustace Lane has decided not to seek re-election, to the Hawke's Bay Land Board as representative of the Crown tenants.. '■

Mr William J. Waters, ex-licenseo of the City Hotel, Duriedin, and who was for many years connected with volunteer and athletic movements at Port Chalmers, lias died from heart disease, aged 61. He leaves a widow: and seven children. Deceased was president of the local Licensed Victuallers' Association, which has lost its two chief executive officers within the present year.—Press Association.
