SPRING CATTLE SALE
The axictionecrs wish to draw the attention of the public tottlie fourth annual spring cattle fair, to be held on account of Mr It. A. McKenzie, at the new saleyairds', Boundary Road, Palmorston North, on Tuesday, 17th October, 1911. As in the past, the young cattle, beef and female stock will be offered without reserve. Tho 1400 yearling steers are all stationbred, and comprise Shorthorn, Polled Angus and Herefords from some of tho best breeders in tho North Island. The yearling heifers, 300 in number, and the lino of 30 2year heifers are particularly choice quality and should be eagerly sought after. The beef to bo offered comprises 50 prime fat bullocks and 160 prime heifers and cows, and as beef is at present very scarce, this affords an excellent opportunity for butchers to fill their requirements. The 1700 bullocks to be told are 3, 4, and 5-year station-bred cattle, and will be drafted in lots to suit purchasers. As usual, the sale will be conducted by Dalgety and Co., Ltd., and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., in con- I junction, and conveyances will run at intervals to the yards; to suit the convenience of the public.
UNRESERVED CLEARING SALE
The auctioneers wish to draw particular attention to the advertisement now appearing in connection with the sale which they are conducting on Tuesday, October 31st, on account of Messrs Slack Bros., Palmerston North. The pedigree Ayrshire cattle to be offered undoubtedly constitute one of the finest herds in the Dominion, and with the balance of the stock will be sold undoubtedly without reserve. This sale affords an opportunity to those ■in search of this particular breed of cattle to obtain animals of careful selection and ibreeding and which have also been most successful as prizetakers in the principal show rings of the Dominion. The horses comprise 1 draughts and half-draughts, and can 'be recommended as really good workers. A few purebred berkshire pigs, j and a collection of nearly new farm implements will also be submitted to •auction. The- English Leicester sihcep have been withdrawn from sale.
