ON THE WAIPOUA BRIDCE. An exciting incident occurred ,on the Wiai-poua bridge, at the end of Queen Street, shortly afiter noon on Saturday. Ttoe Tinui ooaish had just go.t on to the bridge, when a gig which was being driven in the oppositp- direction came upon the structure. Tlib gig luoree refused- to pass the coadbt, and commenced backing. The coach horses became excited, and twisted round. For a .moment it looked as thouglh thane was going to be a smash. The driver of the coach, however, kept, his horses - in hand, and eventually effected a creasing. The slh&iftsi of the gig were broken, but otherwise no damage' was done. I >
