MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary meeting of the M'asterton Trust Lands Trustees was held la,at nigihst, there being present, —Messrs E. G. Eton (chairman), C. E. Daniel], J. H. Pauling, W. H. Jackson, T. B. Michell, D. Oasel- ' berg, R. Erah'agen, 0. Pragnell and ■l. Wagg. ,Hh)e treasurer reported a credit balance of £ll4O 18s lOd. Aqcoumits totalling £1540 13s 9d nvere passed for payment. D. 0. Pryior and M. Ewiart applied for matriculation grants. Each of the applicants matriculated from the Mlasrterton Softool. (Mr Jackson pointed l out that the applicants were not complying with the resolution' passed by the Trust, vi that they were not attending the University. • was argued that as the students were to sit for the same examine tions as those attending the University they were equally entitled to a gnaait. On the motion of M*r Daniell, seconded- by MV Pauling, ,ebch student was granted £lO. ' • - Eu'-'JS. Wiadriingfcon wrote applying flofTa" grant for his dia\igsiter Grace* Mr Waddington\pointed' out that his d!aug(blteivhad .received a sdholarsJiip ftrr two years. She had now passed the mutriculiatdon examination, and ho applied for il matriculation grant. The grant wias disallowed on the ground that the student was not entitled to it, a® she hiad not passed the examination firom Aflasterton. A letter from Mr E. Feist, asking for the insurance of the new brick building, was referred to thfe Building Ooin/mdttee. •The reports of the 'Committees were adopted. . A recommendiation was passed for the Building Cbmmittee to miake an inrpection and report on the condition of the Trust's cottages. A report of tilie. architect on the progress of the erection of the new brick building was read and adopted. Mir J. W. Blliackman submitted a full report; of the installation of the electric light in the Town Hall.— The'report was referred to the Town Hall Committee. * ffit wias reisolved to write to the supervisor (iMr Dawson) expressing the Trust's appreciation of the way in which: the in-staJiation hiad been carried out.
