[From Our Own Correspondent.] HUKANUI. A. children's fancy dress ball was held in the Hukamri Hall on Wednesday night, in aid of the school funds. The attendance was a, record on© Mrs Wolfe, of Eketahuna, donated prizes for .best fancy dresses in boys. and. girls, confined to school children. Miss May .Oonder, as "Oaihbagt.." and .Miss Lawson as "L'airy Queen," won the girls, and Master Hood as "Scotchman,)" and 'Master Hanby as "Gnome," won the boys' prize. It is feared ,tha.t Mr R. C. Leach, who had the misfortune- to run a mu. into his .foot at Cox and Murrell's mill' a fortnight ago, may require to have his foot amputated. <!reat sympathy is felt for Mr Leach.
