The weather during tine past week Las Ibeen excellent, and greatly favoured farmers', who are now busily engaged in docking operations. Percentages of lawiibs in this district are on the ■■whole fair, hut lambs are generally very late this year, which did not make the* prospect too .bright at first. Shearing will be commencing in about a week's time.
Building operations' on the G-len ißoy and, (Flat Point homesteads; are practically completed. The weather all through has been very favourable to the contractors.
A law suit •which is causing a good deal of interest in this district takes place in Masterbon this week, i:i which an employer is being sued for wages, by ah employee. Mr Tanner, one oir the candidates for the Wairarapa seat at the forthcoming elections', caused no little amusement at his meeting here la,st week by has remarks on the "taxation of bachelors." 'Mr J. T. M., Hornsby held most successful meetings this- week at Homewood, ORaveirsdaJe, and Whare~ ama, when many travelled long distances to hear the popular speaker, and showed by their enthusiasm that his addresses were appreciated. Mr'lßiamsay, postmaster at Carterton, paid an official visit to the Te Wharau Post Office this week.
