SOUTH WAIRARAPA.
At a meeting of the Carterton ' Tradesmen's Association, held on Monday night, it was decided to ask the storekeepers to inake special window displays during show week. It was also resolved to close at noon on the second day of the show. Mrs Louisa Bright, widow of the J late Mr Richard Bright, one of the best respected men who ever lived in Greytown, died on Monday night, after a lingering illness. .Dec-eased, who was 64 years of age, was a daughter of the late Mr Ediwin. Ticehurst, one of Greytown's earliest settlers. She. leaves an adopted i daughter, and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn their loss 4 ■ At a. meeting of the Carterton Horticultural Society on Monday afternoon, it was decided to hold a spring show on Saturday, l November 25tli. Mr J. J. Mead tendered his resignation as secretary, not having the necessary time t-o devote to the position, and Mr W. Downard was apipointed to the vacancy. The Belvedere School Committee is going in for swimming baths. On Saturday night, at a late hour/ th i roof .of Mr F.
