MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

MEETING OF COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of the Committee of the Masterton. Borough Council was held in the Borough Council Chambers, last night, there being present,— His Worship the Mayor (Mr J. M. Coradine), Cra A. Donald, J. P. Prentice, J. C. Ewington, W. Pragnell, W. Candy, T. G. 'Hoar, F. W. Temple, J. Elliott, and H. J. O'Leary. The abattoir manager , submitted his report as folowsStock slaughtered during September, 114 cattle,: 8 calvesi 640 pigs. Aggregate charge for the month, £B2 17s 4d. , The stock slaughtered included 20 coiws, 64 bullocks, 30 maiden heifers, 8 oalves, 158 ewes, 428 wethers, 54 maiden eweSj 62 pigs. The report of the pounakeeper. stated that during the past month 14 horses and 1 sheep were impounded from within the Borough, and 5 horses and 2 c&ttle from beyond the Borough. Nineteen, horses, 2. cattle and 1 siheep -were released during thj month. The amount, or fees paid to the treasurer was £l 18s. . Miss K. E.
