The death occurred at Wellington on Saturday morning last, after a dhort attack of pneumonia, of Mr Fred. W." Hales. The deceased,'who was. in flris fifty-fifth year, was '-well known and highly respected in the Wairarapa. For some years he was in partnership in business in. Masterton with Mr William Sellar. 'Subsequently he (became proprietor of the Flati Point station, on the East Coast, selling out a few years back to Mr C. A. Cameron, of Masterton. Since leaving Flat' Point, .the late Mr Haleshad resided in Wellington, where he made many friends. He leaves three sisters —Mrs C. F. Vallance (of Kahumingij Masterton), Mrs T.
