MASTERTON LAWN TENNIS CLUB.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.
The annual general meeting of the Masterton 'Lawn Tennis Cluib was held in the Technical School yesterday afternoon. (Mr N. D. Bunting presided-over a good l attendance of ■members. The annual report was read as follows : Your Committee have pleasure in presenting the annual report and balance sheet for the season 191*0-11. We have bad another very successful /season, both financially and otherwise. Our membership stands at 15i), -as compared with 145 for the previous year. By the .balance sheet you will notice that our balance of assets over liabilities amounts to £l6*2 0s '2d, an improvement of £ll 15s Id during year. Teams matches were played against the following C!ubs.:— Dannevirke (won), Pahiatiia (lost), Eketahuna (lost). We conducted tliei .Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association's Championship® in conjunction with our annual Tournament held in January, and we think ave may congratulate ourselves on having had a very successful season. The Courts were well cared for during the season, and were top-dressed and re-isown in April Everything points to their 'being in fine order for the coming season. The balance sheet showed that the ibank overdraft at date was £24 16s lOd, being £ls 18s Id less than was the case last year. The report and ibalance sheet were adopted, on the .motion of Mr D. Gaselberg, seconded by Mr N. H. James.
Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow:—President, the Very Rev. Dean MeKenna; Vice-Pre-sident, Messrs -N. D. Bunting and D. Caselberg; general committee, Messrs J. V. Gordon, G. G. Aitken, N. H. James, S. A. Noble-Campbell and H. H. Pavitt; auditor, Mr G. C. Summerell; treasurer, Mr A. R. Sclandetrs; /secretary, Mr H. M. Boddington; ladies' secretary, Miss Holmes; officer in charge of the ground, Mr N. D. Bunting. The chairman made reference to th'j capable manner in which the retiring secretary (Mr A. R. Sclanders) had managed the affairs of the Club during the past three years. Mr Bunting moved that a hearty vote of thanks :be accorded Mr Sclanders The moton was carried by acclamation. Mis® Holmes, the ladies' secretary, was also thanked for her attention to the duties .connected with the office she held. It was decided to open the season as soon as the grounds were in a fit condition.
