Equinoctial gales, accompanied by heavy rain, have prevailed here during the. week. On. Thursday the rain changed to the South, and on Friday snow n.nd liail fell at intervals throughout the day. The •weather has now cleared, hut the nights, are decidedly chilly. Feed is scarce for tlie time of year, and stock shows, signs of tine, severe weather experienced during the past fortnight. On Thursday night, a. service of song entitled better the Fisherman" was given in the. local Hall iby ttlue. Hastwell Weisileyan Church Choir. Arrangements were in the hands of the
Jiov. iPendray, of Efcetahuna, and funds are to be devoted to Church requirements. Unfortunately, owing to the inclement weather, there was a very stmiaJJ attendance. After the service, 'supper provided foy the .ladies present, 'iva® partaken of.
