THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.
Packed houses greeted the afternoon and evening performance si at the Foresters' Hall on Saturday, when the cuiTent programme was shown for the last time. The programme to-night promises to f-.miih another fine series well up to he usual Thompson-Payne standard. The bill-of-fare contains' a liberal sprinkling of sensational, pathetic, educational, and mirthriprovoking studi ;s. A feature of the programme is a really magnificent picture, the 'at and best Avork of the Ambrosia (Vm--1 any,.entitled "The Queen of Nineveh." It is superbily acted, finely Costumed, Avith a wealth of ivorkrftij £ceriei'y, and founded on one t»f those old Assyrian legends that hi \- moved the modern Avorld with poA\er. The dramatic story Is followed witb fidelity, and presented with reraai'kaibfe realism- throj r fi nt. It is full of imusual and stirring effects. "The, Lighthouse Keeper's Peril" is a. fine nautical drama, the storm at sea and the wreck being very (realistic. "The. Lost Fri.Mil ; and "Bis- Mather's Cirossi" ha.ve <mcli a- pathetic vein, running through/ them. An excellent Vitagraph com- I edy eaititl*! "The Pjeace OfFeri.l,s" | should find much favour. It illustrates the fiery tempers of isome auburn headed ladies, and is a perfect "screamier." "The Hydraulic Lilt Lock" will be found to be one of the greatest engineering wonders, of the world. Now that war has broken out between Italy and hirkey, soni? vie.vs in the former country round a bod" Naples' should be of special interest. Some laughable comics Avn'Jil be foil-id in "Foolshead as. Insurance Ag-ant, ' "Golightly's Adventure," "The Family Bear," and "Mr Poorlnck- HWp.y Again." A special programme of 11 usic? will ibe rendered by the "T.-}V Orchestra., nnder the able conductorship of Mr Reihana Boyes.
