WAIRARAPA BRANCH.
The annual meeting of tihe Wairarapa branch of the New Zealand; Teachers' Institute was. held An the Technical School, iMasterton, on Saturday .morning. Mr O. N. Bashun (the retiring 'President) occupied the chair,-and there- was a igood attendance.
Officers for ihe ensuing year were elected fas dbllows:— President, Mr G. A. Jones (Te Ore Ore); Vice-Pre-isideintis, Messrs R. J. Foss (Feaiiridge), and King (KJaiwaiwai) • secre-. iaa-y. Mass E5. j Committee, Messrs Haslaim (Master-* ton), Beachey (Belvedere), Dempsey (Ebetohuna), Bnriis (Carterton), Miss' P. 'Lazaaw (ACasterton), and ' Miss" Campbell (Koiparoro); honorary auiditoir, Mr N. 1). Bunting. The discussion, on the* proposed new syllabus, which was to ha.ve been opened by Mi* Bums, ■was postponed until a. future meeting. Two remits in the interests of' country teachers were adopted for submission to th& annual. confer : ence.
