LONDON, September 23

The Times states that the victory of Sir Wilfrid Laurier's opponents in the Canadian elections is far more than a victory of a party. "It is," says the Times, "a re-assertion of the Canadian established faith, from which they, and we their kindred, mean never to depart." The Telegraph states that the electors of Canada have declared for the old Imperialism, and 'have rejected the lure set before them. ECONOMIC IMPERIALISM. (Received Last* Night, 5.5 o'clock.) BERLIN, September 23. The German Press regards the Canadian election as a victory for economic Imperialism.

. ... OTTAWA, September, 23... The Liberals carried Alberta, with the exception of Cangary. The Conservatives had an overwhelming majority over the Liberals at Ontario, the Liberals carrying only 12 seats. British Columbia went entirely Conservative. In Manitoba the Liberals held only one seat. Saskatchewan returned 7 Liberals and three Conservatives. The state of parties in Nova Scotia and, New Brunswick remains comparatively unaltered. . In Quebec the Liberals held 37 seats, but <tlhe Independents and Conservatives gained 20 of them.
