The Otaki Maori (Racing Ulub'-a spring mei&tinig was held yesterday, •in perfect weather, and 'in thie "presence of a large, gathering of the- public- The total amount put through the tota.liso.tor was £8219. Results:—
To Hiwi 'Memorial Stakes, 80 sovs. one mile.— Otahu 1, Lady Volley 2, Turna 3. Also iron— Brown Trout, Melalogue, Soots Fusilier, Golden Age. Won by a length from Lady Volley, w'ito fiiiisiied well half a [length ahead of Turna. Plying Handicap.— Deploy 1, TekaihuTangji 2, Full Rate 3. Atbo ■ran— Merry Frank, Thetfe, Erin, Hirini. Won all the way, but Full Rate finished faster than the winner. Time, lmin. 45 3-ssec. Maiden Plate, 60 sovs., five furlongs (all weighted at Bst 21b),— Adare 1, Our Queen 2, Abercord 3. Sixteen others ran. Won by a biead. Tims, lmin. 4 2-ssec. Resident's Handicap l , 125 soys., 1 mile.— T. Lloyd's Projectile 6.12 (D. Gordon) 1, JMjuitas 9.8, 2; Voetgang 7.4, 3. Also ran—lranui, Waipunui, Countermine, Floater, St Felix. First Consul, First Battery. Won by a length. Voetgang was close up. Time, lmin. 43 3-ssec. The Stewards held an inquiry into the (riding of Equitas but after hearing the statements of both the rider and the owner it was decided to take no further! action,

First HacK Hurdles, 70 sovs.., one mile and a half.— Waiouru 1, Gael-. Ie -2, Strathmoira 3. Also ran— Salopin,' Teotane, Boyne Water, _ Fond Memory, Inveran. W T on by half a length, Stratliimoira a length further back. Time 2min. 50 2-ssec.
Welter Hack, ooisovs., seven furlongs.— Kina 1, St. Beesi 2, Puketotara 3. Also ran. Brown Trout, Otaliu, Big Blast, Ebonite, Emma, Foreshot, Kopane, Millbank, Bonnie Boy. Kina jumped to the front, and wias never headed, hut the finish "wasi close and exciting. Time, lmin. 31 2-ssee.
